What I Did Last Weekend Essay

On Friday night, I went to the market to buy groceries for the next day. Saturday morning began with the preparations of the traditional Easter meals, including the boiling of eggs.

I baked the Easter cakes and boiled the eggs. It took a long time because the cakes are made from yeast dough. When the cakes were ready,

I mixed the glaze out of egg whites and sugar powder and put them back into the oven. I was happy because the cakes were perfect. I liked the cooking time, and I was proud of my work!

I went to the church to prepare for the Easter service. I decorated my basket with artificial flowers, eggs, and colorful stripes. Then I put my cakes, eggs, and a candle into the Easter basket. At 11 o’clock, I left for church.

The church was full of light, and everyone was happy. People were smiling and enjoying themselves. The service was held at night, and at the conclusion of the session, there was a solemn consecration of Easter baskets.

Even though I was tired from cooking and cleaning, I didn’t feel any fatigue. I felt joyful, peaceful, and loved. This was an experience that could only be found in the church.

Sunday mornings start with the traditional Easter family breakfast. We pray and move to our Easter meals. Then we discuss various happy events in our families, show recent photos, and take a family group photo.

After the meal, everyone goes out for a walk in the nearby park. The walk is nice, and the people are cheerful and delighted. I enjoy the time spent with my family and do not even notice that the nice days are over.

On weekends, I enjoy doing things that I love. I try my best to relax and do nothing. I feel relieved when I wake up on Sunday morning because I don’t have to study or take tests.
