A supporting statement is a written document that helps you explain your skills and experience. You may be asked to write a supporting statement during an interview, when applying for a position at a company, or even when applying for college admission.
Many employers prefer to see examples of writing samples because they help them understand your communication style and how well you express yourself.
Supporting statements are often overlooked when writing resumes, cover letters, and other job application materials. But they’re an important component of your resume and cover letter. Why Are They Important?
A supporting statement gives you the chance to show how you meet every important and, if possible, desirable criterion in their unique specification.
An employment specification is a document that shows what employers expect you to have in order to complete the role successfully. It highlights the required abilities, experience, and knowledge for the job.
Your resume should include all the relevant information about your qualifications, including any special skills or experience that may help you stand out among other applicants.
You might also consider adding a section at the end of your resume that lists your professional goals. This is an opportunity to show what you hope to accomplish during your career.
Proofread Before Submitting
Write out your statement in a word processor before sending it through. This will help us make sure everything looks right, and we can make any necessary changes before you send it.
You should always save a copy of your statement so you can review it later. If you’re invited to an interview, print out a copy of your statement and bring it along.
