Science Personal Statement

Personal statements are used extensively in science. To make your essay stand out in a crowded field, you need to be specific about what you want to say. You should also use examples from your life or research to support your points.

Convey Personal Qualities Beyond Academic Interests

I am pursuing my career because of my passion for science. My mentor inspired me to become a scientist. I went out of my way to get experience in the lab. I’ve learned many things about myself from overcoming difficulties with my experiments.

As my knowledge of the sciences has grown, so has my attitude toward them. Subjects that formerly looked separate and autonomous now mix into one cohesive field, each engaging with another. It boggles my mind how the same principles can govern everything from quarks to galaxies, and it’s the never-ending quest for patterns to explain these connections that I find so intriguing.

This idea has been the studying force behind my decision to pursue A Level studies in science and mathematics. Indeed the capacity to understand the explanation behind these notions via the process of questioning and enquiry is what genuinely pushes me to study Natural Science at university.

I occupy the offices of Prefect and Head of House, giving me responsibility to coordinate contests and weekly assemblies for a variety of age groups. I have also been named Captain of the Senior Mathematics Team Challenge, and moreover I have been picked as Captain of Clay Shooting for the previous two years.

Do Not Be Afraid To Defend Your Decisions

Two years after returning to Kenya, I was accepted as a trainee researcher at the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI)–Wellcome Trust Research Program in Kilifi.

My research focused on human genetic variants that protect people from severe malaria infection. This research informed the development of new malaria drugs.

I’ve done research in my field. I’ve been involved in many projects. I’m very interested in this subject. I’ve had some great experiences working in the field.

Use Stories To Show Who You Are

I was inspired by my best friend who lost 3 limbs in Afghanistan. He inspired me to create a new prosthesis that could help him walk again. This project was about helping people who were injured in war.

I’m going to write about my passion for science, and how it helps me understand the world around me. I’ll also talk about my curiosity and my love for learning new things.

Neuroprosthetics is an exciting field of study. My colleagues and I have been working on developing new ways to help people who suffer from brain injuries or diseases. We’ve also been studying how we can use technology to improve our brains.

Biomedical Science Personal Statement

Since studying science at primary school, I have been compelled to study biology. My interest in biology stems from my love of nature and how it relates to humans. I am fascinated by the human body and how it works. I also enjoy learning about the world around me and how it affects us.

Own Your Letter And Your Letter Should Be Your Own

I am passionate about science because I believe it is the most important thing in our lives. Science provides us with knowledge and understanding of how things work. We need to know what is going on around us if we are to survive.

I also think that science helps us understand ourselves and others. I love being part of something bigger than myself. I enjoy helping people and making them feel more confident about themselves.
